The Fabric of America Exhibition
Preview
Beverly Collins-Roberts, weaves a historical overview through her memorable work, The Fabric of America, a multi-media exhibit and artistic depiction, of poignant “swatches” from the life of the city of Camden, it’s indomitable people and their journey from Ghana, West Africa, from the 1600’s.
The Fabric of America is not just a memorable exhibit, it is more so an experience! It has the capacity to affect your senses and emotions while it engages and intrigues you by its power, beauty, pain, suffering, creativity, genius, humility, inhumanity and humanity -- much like a tightly woven cloth with an intricate, beautifully, multi-colored pattern.
It reflects the darkness and the light, the joys and the pain, the blight and the plenty, struggles and the triumphs in the life of the city and of the people.
A 30 Year Retrospect of Work, which includes:
"The Pomona Hall Series" – Images of the Slave Plantation in all it’s glory.
"Portraits of Camden" - City structures and portraits of life in and of Camden.
“Images of Ghana”, is a photo essay of Ghana, portraying it’s historic “slave castles” & contemporary life.
